Can we believe and confess to be Saved?

If we confess the Lord Jesus and believe he is resurrected from the dead, then we are saved. Is this statement true? No. But, Romans 10:9-13 is true. But, preachers use the statement with the common meaning to confession and to belief and they change the tense in thou shalt be saved. This makes it a deception and a lie.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon you.

Confess the Lord Jesus and believe he is resurrected from the dead, then you are saved. My topic is whether this statement is true or not. Let me give the answer first and then explain the statement through the scriptures. Rom 10:9 says... if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.. Vs 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. These verses are true and they are the word of God. But preachers twist these verses and preach them in a little different way. They think confess is just to say something. It is more than just saying. They think 'call upon' is just to call. It is more than just calling. They change the phrase 'shalt be saved' as you are saved. Shall be saved means that they will be saved sometime in the future. You are saved means that the job is already done. But, salvation is a process. It starts as if we are born as a baby drinking milk, then grown as adults eating meat, and are perfected as Jesus Christ is perfect to inherit the kingdom. God takes his time to perfect his workmanship. It is not that God cannot do it in a split of a second. But God does not do it that way. But preachers say it is done, and announce it as we are saved. It is a big deception. Never salvation comes in a split of a second. But most Christians believe that they are saved in a particular time. Of course they are born as spiritual babies to drink the spiritual milk in the particular time. Now they shall be saved sometime in the future, if they keep in memory to walk in the way of God. If anybody preach to them that they are saved, most of them do, they lie, may not be on purpose, yet lie is a lie. Lie will not save anybody. Preachers make people to think that they are saved when they are not saved. They are taught to talk the godly talk but not to walk the godly walk. Until they are converted from sin and walk in the path of righteousness and holiness, they are not saved. They are saved only after the walk of righteousness.

Now, let me read few scripture verses. Matt 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Here, they will become hypocrites, serving the churches, honoring God with their mouth, while their heart is in sin and in the world. Next scripture. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Here, they are just calling the name of Jesus. Preachers say that these believers are saved. But they are not doing the will of the Father, but think that they serve God. Next verse. Luke 6:46 Jesus Christ says- And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? They will call Jesus Christ Lord without even knowing that when they call him Lord they must submit themselves as servants to him and they must obey his commandments. They were totally ignorant.

Next scripture. Here Jesus Christ himself tells us what is it to confess him. Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Here we see that either we confess him or we deny him. That is, confess him is not to deny him, but to accept him. Let us look at the context and find the conditions he lays upon us in order to accept him. In verse 28 he says not to fear death. Let me quote verses 37,38 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. Here, Jesus Christ says that if we want to accept him, we must love him above everybody even above our own lives. So, how to confess Jesus? We have to confess that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and he is above all things to us even he is above our own lives. It is not just to say that I have accepted Jesus Christ. Even though preachers make it as simple as possible, it is the most valuable commitment our lives. Preachers make it as a ritual or ceremony. But it is life changing commitment.

Let us see the next verse: Phil 2:11 ... every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Let us look in its context to find what it is. Vs 8 says that as a man Jesus Christ humbled himself and became obedient unto the death of the cross. Vs 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow.. and so on. That is, God made him the commander in chief of everybody, so that we should fall on our knees to confess him. Acts 2:36 ..God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified both Lord and Christ. So, we see that Jesus of Nazareth was made as the Lord Jesus Christ by God for every one to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The key is, as they confess they should fall on their knees before him and accept him as their King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Christians say he is Lord, but treat him as their buddy. We have to learn to treat him as our master, who is our Lord.

Thank you, God bless you.
