God is the Creator of all things. He created us with
souls that is in his own image.
Then,
God the Word became poor to make us rich. That
is, he
left heaven to take us there. But, he rejects the disobedient.
"Gen 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
In the beginning God is referred as the creator of the
Universe. No other gods in any religion is said to have been the creator of the
universe. God is the creator of all living beings in the universe including man
and women. He created them male and female for them to multiply. This God is
described as three Persons (Souls) in one Spirit Body. Because of his one Spirit
body, he is one person. Because of his Souls, he is
also considered three persons. The Bible
refers them as God, the Word of God, and the Spirit of God. These three persons,
as one person, created all that came to existence and God has set up for their
perpetual existence. The Creator of all is the only
True God. Men created all other gods.
Majority of the people in the world belongs to
some kind of a religion or a belief. They have gods or something which is
equivalent to a god. Hindus have many kinds of gods. Some of them worship a hero
of a play, drama, novel, etc. Some of them worship those who were great kings,
great warriors, handsome men, prettiest women, wisest persons, etc. Some of them
worship their close kindred who passed away. Some worship spirits, idols, stones, fire, water, earth, sun, moon,
etc. In this manner there are many gods in
Hinduism. In Judaism there is only one God. Even though there are many names
used for God, the familiar name they use is Jehovah. Islam worships only one god.
They claim that they worship the God of Abraham. But that is not true. Their god
is Allah and not Jehovah. God of Abraham is Almighty God Jehovah and not Allah. There are
many false gods which are made by men. People worship demonic
spirits. Lucifer was the prime angel of God and was rejected by God because of
his iniquity. He is known as the old serpent, the devil and Satan.
He shows himself as god, even to Christians, in order to be worshipped. He
comes as angel of light with the power that was given to him to deceive even
Christians. This Satan, in
disguise, is
worshipped as god by most religious people, including many theological Christians.
2. The Creator is true God
Science establishes the fact that even
an atom cannot be created from nothing. If this is the case, where did the world,
sun, moon and stars come from? How did the living beings including the intelligent human beings come
to existence? Whoever brought these into existence is the Creator and this
Creator is God. He exists from the everlasting
past. He is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent. He is a
Spirit. Omnipotence is that he is all powerful. Absolutely nothing is impossible to him.
With his power he created the entire universe including the smallest atom therein,
with all its details. Omnipresence is that he is present anywhere and
everywhere. His presence is up in the skies, above the stars, under the oceans,
in hell, in heaven, and all over. Omniscience is that he knows everything there
is to know. He knows everybody from Adam until the end of the world, what
everybody thought and will think, etc. Science, history, future, nothing is
hidden from him. Such a person is God.
A. Who Is the True God?
The Bible describes God as three Persons knitted in
one Spirit as one Person. These God Persons have different names, although they are jointly and individually called
God.
Before 'God the Word' became the ' Son of man,' the names of these three Persons were
'the
Most High God', 'the Word' and
'the
Spirit of God'. After the death, resurrection and ascension of the ' Son of man' they are
called
'God
the Father',
'God
the Son' and 'God the Holy Spirit'. These three Persons are uniquely knitted as one
Person in one Spirit. He
is the
only true God.
B. God the Three in One
Example
We are doing many kinds works with our body. Even though
outwardly our body is doing the work, there are three equally important systems in the
body jointly doing the work.
1. Nerves and
brain.
Brain tells the muscle what to do. Same way, the Father tells
the Son
what to do.
2. Blood and
heart.
Heart pumps to supply the required blood to do the work. Same way, the Holy Spirit gives the
necessary power.
3. Muscles
and bones (body).
Body does every work. Same way, the Son, Jesus Christ does
the work by the instruction of the Father and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We see the body does the work. But the nerves, the blood
and the muscles joined as one are doing the work. We see one body, but they are three different
functional systems, physically united together as one unit, to perform the work by
doing their functions. In the same way,
God is three but one. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit are united together as one Person, doing their own
individual functions to perform the work as one God.
As
One
When the Bible speaks about the
only one God, it refers to the three persons together as one God in one
Spirit. The following verses say that
there is only one God.
"Deut
6:4 Hear,
O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.
Jas 2:19
Thou
believest that there is one God;
thou doest well." For additional Scriptural verses:-
You
may also refer
Gen 1:1, 1King 8:60, Mark 12:32, and
1Cor 8:4.
As
Three
In the creation, God the Spirit
moved upon the face of the waters means that the Holy Spirit was
also involved in the creation. "Gen 1:1
In
the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness
was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters."
God the Highest said to God the Word to create
them.
"Gen 1:6 And
God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide
the waters from the waters."
(Additional
references
Gen 1:14,20,24)
And God the Word was creating them.
"Gen 1:7
And
God made the firmament, and divided the waters
which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament:
and it was so." (Additional references
Gen
1:15,21,25.)
All the creation was done with the power from ' God the
Spirit'.
"Gen 1:2
---
the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters."
But when God was
creating man, God said “let us”
(plural) make man in our (plural) image. "Gen
1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness."
It is recorded as, God
(not Gods) made man, as God is one Person. "Gen
1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Throughout the
complete creation all three Persons in God were involved, but it was
recorded as God as if he is singular. At only the creation of man he was recorded as
plural by saying us and our.
Jesus
Christ
In the New Testament we see that
God the Father created everything by Jesus Christ, meaning that while He was God
the Word.
"Eph
3:9 --- from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God,
who created all things by Jesus Christ.
Heb 1:2 Hath in
these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds."
'God the
Word' that is Jesus Christ has created all things for Him and for His pleasure.
"John
1:3
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was
made. Col
1:16 For
by him were all things created, that are in heaven, ---
all things were created by him, and for him:.
Rev 4:11 ---Thou art
worthy, for thou hast created all
things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
Three
in One
In the Old Testament we saw that God is the union of three
Persons as one. The New Testament explicitly says that God the
Father, God the Word and God the Holy Spirit are together as one God.
"1 John
5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and
the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
3. Most High
God
- God The Father
'The
Most High God' is the highest among the Persons in God. He gives directives to 'God the Word' and 'the
Spirit of God'. 'God the Word' became a man named Jesus and died on the
cross for the salvation of His people. God raised Jesus from death and declared him
as His 'Begotten Son'. At this point Jesus Christ became 'the only Begotten Son of God' and by
the same declaration the 'Most High God' became 'God the
Father'. "Heb 1.5 ---,Thou art my Son,
this day have I begotten thee. And again, I will be to him a Father, and he
shall be to me a Son."
A.
The Most High God
'The Most High
God' was
the name for 'God the Father' before the time of the Son of man. He is the
highest among the Persons in God. "Gen 14:18
And
Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of
the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of
the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath
delivered thine enemies into thy hand.
Heb
7:1
For
this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God,
Luke 1:32
He
shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest ---.
35
And the angel answered and said unto her,
The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall
overshadow thee: ---.
Luke 8:28
When
he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice
said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I
beseech
thee,---".
However, God Jehovah is also called "the
Most High above all the
earth" in one context. "Psalm 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name
alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."
This context explains
His position over all the earth and
not the position among the Persons in God. So still we can say that God the
Father holds the position of command among the three persons. But they are
equal in the status as God.
B.
God the
Father
In order to become a father
He has to beget a child. The
Bible says that God has a begotten Son, who is Jesus Christ. But when did God
beget this Son? It appears to be that God begot His Son
long before the birth of Jesus Christ because God was giving the already
begotten Son to the world.
"John
3:16
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him ---."
But on certain occasions God
used to say things of the future as if it had already happened.
For example, the Bible says that Jesus Christ was slain from the foundation of
the world. "Rev 13:8 -- the Lamb
slain from the foundation of the world."
We know that it happened
after God the Word became the man, Jesus of Nazareth. But the Bible use the
above statement because this
was decided before the foundation of the world. "1 Peter
1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of
the world, but was manifest in these last times for you."
Because of this, the only way to know the fact
is to search and find from the scriptures, which was the actual day that Jesus Christ
was begotten. The Word of God have answers if we search for them.
The day that
God begot His Son was prophesied in Psalms.
"Psa 2:7
I
will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day
have I begotten thee."
It says that God will declare to
Jesus on that day that He has begotten Him as His Son by His proclamation. It is
not actually begetting a child, but it is like adopting a person as his Son by
His authority. The fulfillment of this prophecy was explained in
Acts.
"Acts
13:32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how
that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children,
in
that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second
psalm,
Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
First these verses bring Psalm 2 as reference and then describe the
fulfillment. God raised Jesus from the dead and declares that action of
resurrection as he is begetting his Son. The following verses also say that
the
resurrection of Jesus from the dead was declared as God has begotten the
Son.
"Col 1:18
And
he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from
the dead; ---.
Rev 1:5
And from Jesus Christ, who is the
faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead,".
This action of the Most High God is consented also by
the Holy
Ghost. "Rom 1:4
And
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness,
by the resurrection from the dead."
So begotten Son is the resurrected Jesus who is
' God
the Son'. By declaring Jesus as the Begotten Son, by the same declaration 'the Most high
God' became the Father
to
Jesus Christ. "Heb 1:5 --- Thou art my Son, this day have I
begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a
Son?"
4.
God the Word
God the
Word existed
from the very beginning. He was God Almighty, I Am that I
Am, and God Jehovah. He also had other functional and symbolic names throughout
the Old Testament. When He became a
man, He was named Jesus. He was also called the Son of man. At His
resurrection, He was declared 'the Begotten Son of God' and 'the Christ'.
He is the Lord Jesus Christ and
the Begotten Son.
A.
God Almighty
In the beginning 'the Word' was God.
"John
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God." He was 'God Almighty' to Abraham. "Gen
17:1 --- the
LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God ---".
Later the same 'God the Word' became Flesh, a mere man. He was
named 'Jesus'.
"John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,--.
Matt 1:21 And she shall bring
forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:"
When the Lord Jesus Christ visits Apostle John at the island of Patmos he
identifies himself as 'the Almighty'.
"Rev 1:8
I am Alpha and
Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was,
and which is to come, the Almighty."
In the reference of the gospel of John, we see that
all
the judgment was given to the Son and in the reference of revelation the 'Lord
God Almighty' is judging.
"John 5:22 For the Father
judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Rev
16:7 ---,
Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments."
So 'the Son' is 'Lord God Almighty'. From the above verses we can see
that 'God the Word' is 'God Almighty' and He is the 'Lord Jesus
Christ'.
B. God Jehovah
He
was 'I Am that I Am' or in short He was 'I Am' and His name was 'Jehovah' to
Moses and to the people of Israel. "Ex 3:14
And God said
unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children
of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Ex 6:2-- God spake unto
Moses, and said ---, I am the LORD: 3. --I
appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty,
but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them." Now
we see that 'God the Word' is 'I Am That I Am', 'God
Almighty', 'I Am', 'God Jehovah' and 'Lord Jesus Christ'.
5.
The
Son of Man
'God
the Word' was born as a human child to a virgin
mother. "Isa 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall
conceive, and bear a son." God was made flesh.
"John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us."
Why say flesh?
Because God is a Spirit. "John 4:24 God
is a Spirit:--" He
ceased to be God, who is a Spirit. He did
not keep any power attributes of God in the status of being a Spirit. He
emptied himself to become a mere man. Even
though He was the same Person (Soul) who existed in 'God the Word', He emptied
the power attributes and the Spirit to become a flesh which is a man. (You may click and read:
Who is God? for details.) The Person did not
cease to exist. The Person continued to live, but not as 'God Person' but as
'human person' and thus God became a man.
"Phil 2:6
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon
him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."
A. Mary's Baby Boy
He was called the 'Son of man' (man) and was
named Jesus.
In Bible terminology, when a baby is born the father begets the
baby (contributing the seed from his body) and the mother brings forth the baby. Jesus was born to a virgin called
Mary. God the Holy Spirit and God the Father were involved in the conception of
the baby. "Luke 1:35
And
the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and
the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing
which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."
But neither of them
begot the baby, as a father
would,
but they created a body in the womb of
the virgin.
"Heb 10:5
--- when he cometh into the world, he saith,
---but a body hast thou prepared me:"
This was
called, the seed of the woman and the seed was created from her
own body.
"Gen 3:15
And
I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed;-."
We may say that Mary begot as well as brought forth the baby. 'God the Word'
entered the body as a human soul, to be born as a human child. He was
born as a baby boy of Mary, and for Mary alone.
"Matt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS:---."
Even though his birth was
supernatural, he grew as any other child. He needed to grow in the spirit and to
receive the grace of God, as any other human child. "Luke 2:40
And the child
grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was
upon him." However, as a boy He remembered that
He
was after the business of His Father.
"Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that
ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
Isa 53:11 - by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many;
for he shall bear their iniquities."
B. The Lamb
of God
God
is a Spirit. "John
4:24 God is a Spirit:--."
But God the Word was made
flesh (man). "John
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. 14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us," He was
made a little lower than angels. "Heb
2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for
the suffering of death,---"
Since God or angels cannot die,
' God
the Word' had to become a mortal man in order to suffer death. He was the lamb of God and
His pure blood, without (sin) spot or blemish, was shed for the sins of the world.
"John 1:29
The
next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God,
which taketh away the sin of the world.
1 Pet
1:19
But
with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without
spot:"
He was lead through sufferings and considered as
stricken of God. "Isa 53:4
Surely
he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted."
He has died in our place for the forgiveness of our sins as a sacrificial lamb.
C. Author of Salvation
One of
His roles when He became a man was to be
sacrificed as the lamb of God for the forgiveness of sins of his people. "John
1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb
of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
1 Pet 1:18 Forasmuch
as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and
gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19
But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and
without spot:---" By sacrificing
Himself in order to redeem us
from our sins, He purchased us with His own blood. Now we
belong to Him. "Acts
20:28 --- to feed the church of God, which he hath
purchased with his own blood." Another
aspect of His sacrifice is that He became the author of our salvation. So His
pardon will apply to only those who obey Him, but not to those who call him
Lord and not obeying Him. "Heb
5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all
them that obey him;." Only those who obey
Him
are His people and God will save them. Those who call Him Lord without obeying Him are rejected. "Matt 7:21 Not
every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

D.
Example To Follow
We
all know that Jesus Christ died for our sins. But what we do not know is that
He left a life of example. That is,
He lived a perfect holy life as an example
for us to follow in the steps of His life. Those who follow Him will reach where He
has reached, that is the throne of God in heaven. "1 Pet
2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22
Who
did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Phil 2:5
Let this mind
be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will
I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down
with my Father in his throne."
If God disguised as a man and was able to live a holy life, then it is not sure
whether a man can live a holy life. But if a man, with the grace
of God, lived a holy life and showed men how to live such a life,
then we have no more excuse but to live a holy life. If a
man lived a holy life then we should be able to live a holy life.
E.
Was the Son of man God?
Let
us ask
ourselves a question who our God is? Immediately our mind will retrieve a concept of
God. This picture of our minds will differ from person to person depending
on our doctrinal believes. Setting aside our sentimental, traditional or
even denominational views about God, let us look into the view of the Bible.
You may click on this:
"Who is God?",
to
see the view of this article based on the Bible. Having understood the
Biblical position of who God is, then try to study whether the Son of man, Jesus
of Nazareth, was God while living on earth as a man.
As a child he had to grow in spirit,
wisdom and grace. "Luke 2:40
And
the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of
God was upon him."
God
is a Spirit.
"John
4:24 God
is a Spirit:--."
The Spirit of God has the power
attributes as Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Omniscience. He did not keep the privilege
of being equal with God the Father. He voluntarily ceased to be God (a
Spirit) and has declined the power attributes of the Spirit of God.
"Phil 2:6
Who,
being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God."
He did not keep the reputation or the power attributes of the Spirit when he became a servant. "Phil
2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took
upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."
That is: He
was made just flesh, meaning he was a mere man.
He fully obeyed
' God the Father' even to
die.
"Phil 2:8 And
being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto
death, even the death of the cross."
The fear and agony with which he was praying to
'God the Father' at Gethsemane, it is evident that He was not God while
He was a man. He was just a man.
"Matt 26:38
Then saith he unto them, My soul is
exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my
Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I
will, but as thou wilt." God did not come in
the disguise of a man to put up a show to deceive people. Spirit became
flesh.
"John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh ---."
God became a
mere man.
The Omnipotent, Omniscient, and
Omnipresent 'God the Word’ became a man on His own accord. When He had
become a man, He obeyed 'the
Most High God' to do the will of God with perfect obedience.
"Heb
10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of
me,) to do thy will, O God."
The
following scripture passage
"in the days of his
flesh"
denotes that during this period on earth as a man, He had kept
the status of the flesh and not the Spirit. God is a Spirit.
"John 4:24 God is
a Spirit:--."
The fact that He was only flesh and not a Spirit
means that He was only a man and not God. Because of the fact that
He prayed to God with supplication and with strong crying for the salvation
of His own self from death and He had the fear of death, He surely had
not maintained the status of God but He had certainly become just a man.
"Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had
offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him
that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;"
He
had to learn obedience through suffering in order to be made perfect.
Again this is not the status of God. "Heb
10: 8 Though he
were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered."
While the Word of God is trying to show with different verses in the scripture
that God had become flesh (a mere man), why Christians are trying to
establish that He was God while He was a man? Is it not ignorance, which
cause deception?
Jesus
of Nazareth or the Son of Man did
not have the power attributes of the Spirit while He was living as a man. But
He cast out
devils, healed the sick, raised the dead and did miracles. If He was just
a man, how did he do the supernatural manifestations? He
confessed that he could not do any supernatural works by himself. 'God the
Father' does the works and shows to Jesus so that Jesus might do the same for the
people to see.
"John
5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto
them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but
what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth
the Son likewise. 20 For the Father
loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew
him greater works than these, that ye may marvel."
In the Old Testament God has done many miracles through His people, especially
through Moses. Moses was there and did what God want him to do. Then
God did the miracles. In the New Testament the apostles has done the same
kind of miracles as Jesus Christ did. A person doing miracles is not a
proof that he is God. Here God the Father Showed Jesus Christ what to
do and God the Father did the miracles. It appeared to be that Jesus
was doing them. But God was behind Jesus Christ doing every supernatural
manifestation.
Jesus preached the gospel and gave commandments so that
the people may live a holy life and should inherit the kingdom of God. He again
confessed that He did not say anything of himself, but the Father taught him all
the things that he said.
"John 8:28
--- that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I
speak these things.
John 12:49
For I have not spoken of myself; but
the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what
I should speak. 50 And I know
that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as
the Father said unto me, so I speak."
In the
Old Testament God gave the commandments to Moses and Moses gave the commandments
to the People. God the Father told Jesus what all the things to preach,
including the gospel of His kingdom. Jesus preached those things to
the people.
God
is a Spirit.
"John 4:24 God is a Spirit."
The
awesome power attributes; Omnipotent, Omnipresence and Omniscience are in the
Spirit of God. Because of these attributes, God was the creator and and we
worship Him as God.
He is also a Soul which is a Person.
"Matt 12:18 ---
my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall
live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him. Jer
5:9,29 -- shall not
my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?" As a soul He is a perfect holy Person and He require
us to be holy and perfect also because we are also souls, created in His
image.
A soul that lives holy is not necessarily God. But a Spirit, that has
Omni-powers, is God. God the Word ceased to be the Spirit which has
the awesome powers and He (His Soul) became flesh (human soul). We
can say that 'God the Word' stripped aside His Spirit, along with
His awesome powers which and He became flesh (a mere man), who is not
God.
F.
The Lie of Antichrist
The
antichrist deceives the
people regarding the Son of man. He makes the people believe that Jesus was doing the miracles and living a perfect
holy life only because He was God. But the truth is that God became flesh
(mere man), which
was Jesus. God is a Spirit.
"John
4:24 God is a Spirit:--."
But
He became Flesh (mere man).
"John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh ---." God did not come as a man,
but He became a man. That is to say "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh".
"1 John 4:2 ---:
Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is
not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it
should come; and even now already is it in the world."
Satan doesn’t
want the people to inherit the kingdom of God. He makes them believe that Jesus
lived a holy life because He was God and they cannot live holy life because they
are human. It is a lie of the devil. By the grace of God, that
is by the help God, all
things are possible.
"Matt 19:25 --- Who then can
be saved? 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men
this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."
The purpose of Satan is to make people disobey God by deceiving
them. Jesus lived a holy
life with the power of God, as a
man.
Then, any man with the power of God can live a holy life, provided the man wants to live a holy life
as much as Jesus wanted to live a holy life. But the servants of Satan are systematically and strategically
teaching just the opposite.
Most of
the false teachers don't even know that they are false teachers. They are like
Eve, who was deceived by Satan, deceived her husband without knowing that
she was deceiving him.
"2 Cor
11:14
And
no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15
Therefore
it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
6. Begotten Son of God
A Christian will say without hesitation that his God is
Jesus Christ. However, there is a difference between the Man Jesus,
who died on the cross
and the
Lord Jesus Christ, who was resurrected. 'God the Creator' became a
mere
man, Jesus of Nazareth. He died on the cross as the Lamb of God and was buried.
That was the end of his being a man, because the Most High God and God the Holy
Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, made him the Lord and
Christ, declared him as the Begotten Son and called him God. Because of
God's declaration and the other actions, the Man Jesus became God and Lord Jesus
Christ at his ascension.
Which Jesus
Christians worship? Do they look up to heaven and worship Jesus
Christ, who is God?
OR, Do they look back 2000 years and worship the Image of the Man Jesus
as God? The Man Jesus does not exist anymore. The Lord Jesus Christ is no longer
a man on earth. But he is God of gods, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This
Jesus Christ is sitting on the right hand of God the Father in heaven as God.
A.
He Humbled Himself
Being made
a man,
He further humbled himself, became
obedient unto the death of the cross. So God the Father (Most High God) raised
him up from the dead and exalted him to the Utmost Position so that every knee should
bow to Him and everyone shall call Him
the Lord. "Phil 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he
humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above
every name: 10
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things
in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father."
B. Exalted Him Above All
When 'the Most
High God' exalted 'the Man Jesus' above everything on earth, in Hell and in
heaven. "Phil 2:9 Wherefore God also
hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in
heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father."
He declared Him as 'the Begotten Son of God'. This
action of God was prophesied in the second Psalm and the fulfillment is
explained in the thirteenth chapter of the book of Acts. "Psa
2:7 I will declare
the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I
begotten thee. Acts 13:32 And we declare
unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in
that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second
psalm,
Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."
The following references also show that the declaration of the
begotten Son was at the event of his resurrection from the dead.
"Col 1:18 ---: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
---. Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful
witness, and the first begotten of the dead,
Rom 1:4 And declared to
be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the
resurrection from the dead: Heb
1:5 ---, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?
And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?"
A. God
is a Spirit
If
there was a beginning, God was in existence even before that beginning.
God is a Spirit. "John
4:24 God
is a Spirit:" Angels and fallen angels are also spirits. God
gives a spirit to everybody who is genuinely repented of their sins. Among
all these spirits, God's Spirit is the only Spirit who has the unmatchable awesome power attributes.
He is Omnipotent. "Job
42:2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought
can be withholden from thee. Psalms 147:5 Great is
our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Rev 19:6
--- Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth."
He is Omnipresent.
"Psalms 135:6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that
did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Psalms 139:7 Whither
shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I
ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold,
thou art there."
He is Omniscient.
"Job 26:6 Hell is naked before him, and
destruction hath no covering. Job 34:21
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. 22
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where
the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. Heb
4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him
with whom we have to do."
Because of his unique awesome power attributes of the Spirit,
God is God. Or, we may say that this Spirit is God, who has the
Omni-Powers.

B. God
is a Soul
God
is also a Soul which is a person. "Matt
12:18 --- my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall
live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him. Jer
5:9,29 --- shall not
my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?" God created men and women
in His own image. God's image is the Soul (Person) and it is not
the image of the physical body of male and female. "Gen
1:27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
We see that the person of God is similar to the person of man. God
(Person, Soul) has
the character of perfect holiness. Because we also have the same kind of
person as God, He asks us also to be holy and to be perfect as He is
perfect. "1 Peter 1:15 But as
he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Matt 5:48 Be ye
therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
8.
God the Holy Spirit
A. He Is God
The
Holy Spirit, God the Father, and God the Son are individual Persons in one
Spirit. Each Person is as much God as the other. His eternal
beginning and existence are simultaneous with God the Father and God the
Son.
We see His involvement from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation.
"Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and
the earth. 2
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.
Rev 22:17
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come."
Every time when God the Word (God Jehovah, Lord Jesus Christ) is doing something, we can see God the Holy Spirit
working side by side. The Holy Spirit is more than power and might.
"Zech
4:6 --- This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by
might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
We call
Him 'God the Holy Spirit'. God
the Father is the giver of God the Holy Spirit.
"John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And
I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may
abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because ---: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in
you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
God the Son baptizes us with the Holy
Ghost. "Matt
3:11
--- he (Jesus Christ) shall baptize you with
the Holy Ghost, and with fire:"
Only those who have repented of their sins and are obedient to the Word can
receive Him.
"Acts
2:38
Then
Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost.
Acts 5:32 ---
so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey
him."
After
receiving Him, we will receive power to do the work of God.
"Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost
not many days hence. 8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye
shall be witnesses unto me."
He
must be given high reverence as God since the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will
not be forgiven.
"Matt
12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin
and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy
Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." Nobody should grieve the Holy Spirit.
"Eph
4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,
---." Lying
to the Holy Spirit was dealt with very severely.
"Acts
5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine
heart to lie to the Holy Ghost,---5
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up
the ghost:--- 7 ---
when his wife, -- came in.
9 --How
is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?
---.
10 Then fell she down
straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost:---."
But
He is also the Spirit of
Grace. Again whoever do not heed to the Spirit of Grace, sorer punishment
will be upon them. "Heb 10:29
--- Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, ---
and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?"
B. Head of the Church
The Lord
Jesus Christ told the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit before they go to
the ministry.
"Acts 1:4 And,
being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not
depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith
he, ye have heard of me. 5
For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost
not many days hence. 8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,
and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
The Holy Spirit visited them in ten days. Holy Spirit took charge of the
Church. "Acts
2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. 2
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled all the house where they were sitting. 3
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon
each of them. 4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,
as the Spirit gave them utterance."
He is the God Person who is in Charge of the Church (Body of Christ) in
the World. "Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which
he hath purchased with his own blood."
He
leads people in the ways of God, reveals the Word of God as well as Jesus Christ
to them. "John
16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into
all truth: for ---"
He gives them gifts for
the maturity of the Church.
"Psa 68:18
--- thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the
rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them."
He
makes sons of God by their obedience to his leading.
"Rom 8:1
There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
He abides with the believer in order to rapture them at the second coming of
Jesus Christ. "Rom
8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he
that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his
Spirit that dwelleth in you."
He
reproves the world of the sin.
"John
16:8 And when he (Comforter) is come, he will
reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:"
He
joins the repented souls to the Church.
"Acts
2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
God the Holy Spirit is preparing the Church to
become perfect, pure and holy.
"Eph
4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and
some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the sain |
