Most Christians think Jehovah is God the Father, but the
Bible point out that Jesus Christ
was Jehovah. Jehovah’s Witnesses
say that God Jehovah has created Jesus Christ and so on. However, God the Word
took different names for each of his missions. His names are, the Almighty, I AM,
Jehovah, and Jesus Christ. It was God the Word, who was Jehovah, became the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us review a few passages to find who is actually
Jehovah. Scripture points out that Jesus Christ was Jehovah. God the Word became
Jesus Christ and he was also Jehovah. So, we can say Jesus Christ was Jehovah.
The “I AM” was Jehovah and then he was also Jesus Christ. So, we can say that
Jesus Christ was Jehovah. The Almighty was Jehovah and now he also is Jesus
Christ. So, we will conclude that Jesus Christ was Jehovah.
1.
Jehovah is
Jesus Christ since both are Almighty
A.
Lord Jehovah is the Almighty God
"Gen
17:1 ---the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto
him, I am the Almighty God. Ex 6:3 -- I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God
Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them."
God
the Word introduced himself to Abraham as the Almighty God. The Almighty God
told Moses that his name was Jehovah. Therefore, Lord Jehovah is the Almighty
God.
B.
Jesus Christ is the Almighty
God
When the Lord Jesus Christ
visits Apostle John at the island of Patmos, he identifies himself as 'the
Almighty'. "Rev
1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave
unto him, to shew unto his servants things ... 8 I am Alpha
and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which
was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
God the Father gave all the
judgments to the Son and we see that the Lord Almighty
God will be doing
the judgment. Therefore, Jesus Christ is Almighty
God. "John
5:2 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Rev 16:7
--- Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments."
The Church waits for the second coming of the Lord God Jesus Christ.
"Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
The following verses point to the Lord
Jesus Christ is Lord Almighty God. "Rev
4:8 -- and they rest not day and night, saying,
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Rev 11:15
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying,
The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of
his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four
and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces,
and worshipped God, 17
Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty,
which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee
thy great power, and hast reigned."
The above verses show that the Lord
Jesus Christ is the Almighty God.
C. Lord Jehovah is Jesus Christ
The scripture verses at section -A show that
God Jehovah is the Almighty God. The verses at section -B show that Jesus Christ
is the Almighty God. Therefore, Lord Jehovah is
Lord Jesus Christ.
2.
Lord Jehovah is Jesus Christ
because both are
the "I AM"
"Ex 3:14
And God said
unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto
the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." When God
Jehovah visited Moses from the burning bush, he told Moses that his name
was "I AM." Therefore, Lord Jehovah was the "I AM."
"John 8:58 Jesus
said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am."
Jesus Christ told the Jews that he existed before the time of Abraham and
implied that he was the "I AM." Jesus Christ was the "I AM"
and Jehovah was also the "I AM."
Both were the "I AM." Therefore, Lord Jehovah is Lord Jesus Christ.

3.
Lord Jehovah is Jesus Christ
because both are
God the Word
"John
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God."
God the Word and the Spirit of God has done every work of
God from the very beginning, starting from the work of creation. He was
predominantly Lord Jehovah in the Old Testament.
"John
1:14 -- the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us. Matt 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the
remission of sins." God the Word became flesh, a mere man, Jesus
of Nazareth. He shed his blood on the cross for the remission of sins.
"1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Rev
19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture
dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."
The
Holy Spirit and God the Father raised Jesus of Nazareth from death, declared him
as the Lord Jesus Christ, and called him God. God restored him to what he was
before the foundation of the world. God the Word was Jehovah in
the Old Testament and Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Therefore, Lord Jehovah is
Lord Jesus Christ.
4.
Jehovah was God and
Jesus Christ is God
Many Christians say that
Jesus of Nazareth was God. Nevertheless, the Bible says that 'God
the Word'
became flesh, which was a mere man, Jesus of Nazareth. Jehovah's Witnesses
say that Jesus Christ is the son of God, but he is not God. Nevertheless, the Word of
God says that God the Father declared the Son Jesus Christ as God and the
Holy Ghost endorse him as God.
"Heb 1:8
-- unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.
9 Thou hast loved
righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath
anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Here, Jesus Christ is the Word of God, Almighty God and the
great God.
Rev 19:13
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and
his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him
upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth
a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them
with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God. 16
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name
written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he
cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of
heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great
God." Trust the word of God rather than trusting the
traditions of Churches and the doctrines of denominations. God the Word
was Jehovah in the Old Testament and he is Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
God Jehovah is the Lord Jesus Christ.
