What does it means that Jesus Christ Saved me?

Evangelical Christians say “Jesus Christ saved me” as their witness. What does it mean? It means that Jesus Christ has exempted them from the punishment in hell for committing sins making the righteous judgment of God void. Is it true? Let us look into scriptures.

1. Sin Monster

Jesus Christ saves his people from their sins; that is, he saves them from the very act of sinning itself. Once they are saved from the addictive forceful monster called Sin, which makes them keep sinning, they will not commit sin anymore. After the addiction is gone if they do not sin any more, Jesus Christ forgives their past sins. Now, being the past sins forgiven and freed from future sins, they are saved from sins. God gives eternal life as a reward to them for their obedience.

2. Preachers Salvation

But, most preachers twist the verses of the Bible to preach something else. They say that Jesus Christ saves Christians from the punishment for sins and allow them to enjoy their sins. They also say that nobody can stop sinning as long as they live. They are ignorant of either the power or the grace of God is.

3. Grace or Sin

Sin rules a person unto eternal death that is hell. But, grace rules a person unto eternal life through righteousness. “Rom 5:21 … as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Grace is opposite power to sin. Grace of God displaces sin with the righteousness of God and leads him/her to eternal life. Lord Jesus Christ gives his grace to obedient humble people.

4. Life or Death

Here, we see two scenarios. First scenario explains how to receive eternal life and the second scenario explains how people receive eternal death. “Rom 6:22 ... now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” In order to earn eternal death what all they have to do is to commit sin. This is so easy. Most Christians do just that. But, in order to receive the gift of eternal life, we must be (1) made free from sins, (2) become true servants to God, (3) show the proof of being a servant of God, which is living a holy life. The reward for these three steps is the gift of eternal life and it is given by our Lord Jesus Christ.

But, preachers give a little twist to the word of God and read it to mean different. First, they will not refer verse 22 as if it does not exist. Then they just admit that the wages of sin is death, but quickly they say that instead of death God gives the gift of eternal life.

5. Jesus or the devil

Jesus Christ saves his people from sin nature and the person is saved from sinning. “Mat 1:21 ... call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” The work of the devil is to induce people to commit sin. Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil so that people may not sin. “1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil

6. Workmanship of God

Sin is opposite to righteousness. Any person is either a sinner or a righteous person according to God. A sinner needed to be saved and a righteous person is already saved. God saves a sinner. “Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” How God does save them is the vital point here. It is by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. They are the workmanship of God. They are made new. “Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; ... 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Saved persons are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus. They ordained to do good works of righteousness all the time. A person, who does unrighteousness that is sin, is not saved.

7. Jesus Christ saved me

I was a sinner, who was lead by the world and the devil. I did lustful sin with my body and mind. Then God convicted me and I started to obey God. God has converted me by his grace. Now I live righteous holy life. That is, Jesus Christ saved me from my sins. I will inherit his kingdom as his son. “Mat 1:21 ... JESUS:... he shall save his people from their sins. Heb 5:9 ... he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 17... if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together

If we love God with reverential fear, we will obey God - We will stop sinning.
